If You Are Philanthropically Inclined

Many people want to make gifts to charity at their death.  Perhaps you want to make a gift to your religious organization, a school you attended, a hospital that treated you, or a favorite cultural group.  Your estate planner can work with you to help you determine whether you want to make charitable gifts and, if so, how those gifts should be structured.

In some cases, you might want to enter into a “planned giving” arrangement, such as a trust or a gift annuity, that can benefit both your loved ones and a charity over an extended period of time.  Your estate planner can help you determine whether such an arrangement might be appropriate for you, given your finances and your overall goals for your family and for your favorite charities.
